I always look for life-hacking secrets or that transformative advice to read that brings me closer to my goals. During that quest, I found four books that changed my life. I have read each of these books so many times! They contain so much wisdom that it’s impossible to consume it all in one reading.
When was the last time you read something that changed your life? A quote that hit you at just the right moment? An article that suddenly made everything click? Make sure to leave some in the comments below – I can’t wait to read yours! Here are the four books that changed my life.
How to Win Friends and Influence People – Dale Carnegie
By far the most valuable book I have ever read and one of the most successful personal development books of all time. Since publishing in 1937, it has sold over 15 MILLION copies!
This book will help you develop the soft skills to win friends and influence people. It will help you convince people of your opinions and ideas and solve conflicts in an effective way. The advice will make you a better leader and a more likeable person. People will enjoy spending time with you and working with you. You will build genuine connections simply because you become one of the few people who know how to deal with others in a genuine and understanding way!
I recommend reading only one chapter per week, then intentionally implementing one principle from the chapter throughout the week. You will be amazed at how differently people react towards you when you start implementing the principles!

Girl, Wash Your Face: Stop Believing the Lies About Who You are So You Can Become Who You Were Meant to Be – Rachel Hollis
If you’ve been following me, I’m sure that this is not the first time you’ve heard me rave about this book. When I first found this book, I read it twice (hardcopy and audiobook). I then immediately purchased it for four of my friends. Yes, it’s THAT good.
Rachel has the most beautiful gift of communicating in an insanely relatable, funny and charming way. And then smacking you in the face with the truth. In the process, you’ll learn how to uncover lies that you tell yourself and move past feelings of unworthiness. She shows you how you can live your life with passion, hustle and so much joy.
I recommend that you only read one chapter each day. You can’t absorb all the goodness by rushing through this one. Take your time. You are worth it!

Total Money Makeover: A Proven Plan for Financial Fitness – Dave Ramsey
When I graduated college, I knew three things about personal finance: how to balance the few dollars in my checkbook, how to get charged overdraft fees, and how to postpone my credit card payoff as long as possible.
Not until I created an excel spreadsheet and wrote down all of my bills, student loans and store credit card balances did I realize that I was legit broke. I knew I had to figure out this “adulting” thing, so I found a money mentor at my church. We worked through each step in this book together, meeting monthly for accountability.
Step-by-step, Dave Ramsey lays out exactly what you need to get your financial life back on track and live debt free. He explains everything from managing your 401k, to buying a house and managing your taxes. It is still baffling to me that we don’t teach this to our children in school! Luckily, the good thing about life is that it’s never too late to learn something new and take the next step on the right path!

The Beauty Detox Solution: Eat Your Way to Radiant Skin, Renewed Energy and the Body You’ve Always Wanted – Kimberly Snyder
This book became my beauty bible. Fitness and nutrition always interested me, so I read about more fad diets and conflicting studies than you can ever imagine. At times I wanted to give up and just grab Chick-fil-A for dinner (which would actually be my dream life).
In this book, Kimberly doesn’t provide a specific plan to follow. She explains exactly how foods are digested and how the vitamins and minerals support your body. She shows you how to maximize your health and beauty by making tweaks to your *diet.
Note: When I use the word “diet,” this does not imply a short-term program, but a lifestyle. If you need 1:1 support to get your nutrition game on point, click HERE and I’ll contact you for a free consultation within 24 hours.
Since reading this book, I started taking probiotics (which I now consume in my daily superfoods shake), plant-based digestive enzymes, and magnesium-oxygen supplements along with her Glowing Green Smoothie recipe (which I swear by!). It has completely changed my complexion, strengthened my nails and made my skin incredibly soft.
Am I perfect at following all her advice? Heck no. I have a social life and I love a good latte. But it’s amazing how implementing a few simple healthy habits into your daily routine can make such a huge difference over time!
